Yesterday, Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II of England died at the age of 99. He and the Queen had been married 73 years with 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren together.

Prince Philip came from a long line of royalty. He was born in Greece on the island of Corfu as the son of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark. He was also the great-great-grandson of Queen Victoria.  He was educated in England and Scotland and attended the Britannia Royal Naval College. Then at the age of 19, he joined the British army during wartime and soon rose the ranks to become a high ranking officer. Upon marrying Queen Elizabeth, he was given the title the Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth and Baron of Greenwich, and His Royal Highness.

Many world leaders have sent their condolences and prayers to the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family, including President Joe Biden, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. The funeral is set for Saturday.
